Infectious Disease Control Pharmacist
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Infectious Disease Control Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. As an Infectious Disease Control Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in preventing the spread of infectious diseases and ensuring the appropriate use of antimicrobial medications. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals, develop and implement infectious disease control programs, and provide education to staff and patients. This position requires a strong background in infectious diseases and pharmacy practice, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement infectious disease control programs and policies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to promote infection prevention and control
- Provide expert advice on the appropriate use of antimicrobial medications
- Monitor antimicrobial use and resistance patterns and develop interventions to optimize therapy
- Review patient medical records to identify appropriate antimicrobial therapy
- Educate healthcare staff on infection prevention and control measures
- Conduct research and participate in clinical trials related to infectious diseases
Requirements
- Current license as a Pharmacist
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Completion of a specialized residency or fellowship in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy
- Strong knowledge of infectious diseases, antimicrobial medications, and infection control practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with healthcare professionals
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment
- Proficiency in using computer software and electronic medical records systems
